Several new features have been added to mHelpDesk and we’re really excited to share the latest tools to help you become the best service provider EVER.

Sub-Customers Officially Released
Sub-customers have finally been released. This upgrades the old “Service Location” feature to provide better tracking of the data that belongs to each individual “service location”. In the past, all the service tickets, invoices, contacts, equipment were filed under the customer record. Now you’ll see that everything is filed neatly under each “service location” as a sub-customer.
For example, if “Lowes Home Improvement” sends you a job for “John Smith”, you can manage and bill the job under Lowes, but attach all data to John Smith for better record keeping
The sub-customer feature also doubles as a way to manage long-term projects. For instance, if you have a long-term job for Acme Inc. and want to organize all the work-orders for that particular job, you can now do this with the sub-customer feature.
Mandatory iOS and Android update
A mandatory iOS (v42) and Android (v60) update has been released. It is mandatory that everyone upgrades their app by downloading it in the store. We also highly recommend updating your Android OS to the latest version. Android 4.4.2 has released several new fixes that make it much more stable.
GPS Location Tracking
We have released Phase 2 of our Mapping capabilities. The iOS and Android apps now send location data to the mHelpDesk map so you can see where your field techs are in real-time. This is a great feature to assign emergency work to the nearest field tech, or to help plan your routes for the day. To turn this on, go to the mobile app and navigate to My Account | Account Settings | Enable GPS.
Re-arrange Estimate and Invoice Line items
You can now re-arrange line items on invoices and estimates by dragging them around. Use the drag icon on the left of each item to re-arrange its position on the invoice.
In the last three weeks many of you have noticed a drop in performance during the busiest hours of the day. We have been working hard on this and have tweaked several things that should speed things up. This is an on-going effort and we are working diligently on optimizing and making mHelpDesk faster. We are tweaking our code, in addition to adding new servers to support our rapid growth. Thanks for being patient as we improve performance. We’ll keep everyone updated as we make progress.
